Be Still & Breathe Life....
Denise Walker, LPCA
Trauma does NOT have a one-size-fits-all definition, therefore there is no singular fool-proof path to healing or seeking understanding. I believe in the importance of a holistic approach to therapy by integrating the mind, body, and spirit in order to cultivate personal resilience and self-efficacy. You are the great constant of your life. And of all the other relationships that may fall by the wayside, the one that you have with yourself is the one that will be there with you every single minute of the rest of your life. Therefore, it’s so important to learn how to be your biggest cheerleader. It would be my privilege to work with you on your journey to healing and self-partnership.
I love working with adolescents (ages 13+) and adults to better manage their lives, emotions, and levels of distress which result from depression, anxiety, ADHD, past trauma, relational discord and acculturation issues. Coming from a Latino background, I also understand that mental health is not customarily acknowledged, and my goal is to create a safe space to learn about generational maladaptive influences and ways to overcome them.
For my own self-care, you can find me re-watching my favorite comfort shows/movies, listening to oddly specific Spotify playlists, crafting/baking, at the beach, practicing yoga or on mental health walks, and spending time with my dog (Ramen) and loved ones.
