Aubree Johnson, PhD Intern

Recognizing the factors that influence the need for counseling can be complex. My work focuses on the intersection of social determinants of health and mental health counseling, with particular attention to the mental health needs of first responders and men, as well as the barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing mental health services.

Through my internship, I am examining these factors and developing potential interventions to help reduce barriers and improve access to care.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, visiting farmers’ markets and antique malls, and playing with my dog.
