Denise Walker, LPC

If you’ve ever felt disconnected from yourself or unsure of what you really need, you’re not alone. I help adults who feel disconnected from their needs and overwhelmed by anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and pressure to meet others’ expectations. You may question your worth, struggle to set boundaries, or feel stuck in relationships. In our work together, we’ll look beneath those patterns to understand where they come from and help you reconnect with your authentic self. My goal is to help you feel grounded and confident in who you are, set healthy boundaries, and build relationships (with yourself and others) that feel more genuine and supportive.

My approach is holistic—I believe healing happens when we take care of mind, body, and spirit together. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, somatic, and IFS-informed approaches, tailoring our work to what fits best for you. I’m also currently pursuing further certification in somatic parts work to deepen that mind-body connection. Coming from a Latino background, I understand how culture and family dynamics can shape our experiences and sense of self, and I strive to create a space that feels warm, inclusive, and safe to explore things like generational influences, identity, and acculturation challenges.

Outside of sessions, you can usually find me rewatching comfort shows or movies, listening to oddly specific Spotify playlists, crafting or baking, at the beach, practicing yoga, or spending time with loved ones. I also try to practice what I preach by making space to learn new hobbies and give myself permission to be bad at something—currently, that’s playing the piano.
