Denise Walker, LPCA

I am a licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) through South Carolina, and a certified yoga instructor. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology and master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M International University.

As a therapist, I rely on evidence-based practices, primarily from a cognitive-behavioral perspective; but I also incorporate various other types of interventions, as needed. I highlight the importance of a holistic approach by integrating the mind, body, and spirit in order to cultivate personal resilience and confidence. My passion is utilizing a holistic approach to teach adolescents and adults how to better manage their lives, emotions, and levels of distress which result from depression, anxiety, transitions, past trauma, relational discord and significant life challenges.

My focus is on providing therapy to individuals from child to adulthood, to learn and develop skills that lessen difficult feelings, memories, and promote a path to wellness. In addition, coming from a Latino background, I understand that mental health is not customarily acknowledged, and my goal is to create a safe space for learning about generational maladaptive influences and ways to overcome them.

Me siento muy afortunada de ser aceptada como consejera en esta clínica. Espero poder ofrecer mis servicios en español a la comunidad, para que juntos podamos encontrar soluciones prácticas para problemas y angustias de hoy en día.
