Mekensi Voss, LPCA

I am a licensed professional counseling associate (LPCA). I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Military and Veteran Counseling. My background in the sciences allows me to offer insight on how the brain works to help individuals create practical and realistic changes in their lives. My approach to the art of counseling is integrative with a basis in Person-Centered therapy and Relational and Cultural theory.

My specialization in Military and Veteran counseling makes me uniquely qualified to work with this population. As a child to two military parents, I am also well versed in military culture. It has become part of my life’s work to provide support to my community in an empathetic and trauma-informed way.

My main areas of focus are trauma-focused and trauma-informed care, though I have experience working with individuals with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, BPD, and ADHD. My goal is to provide a supportive environment to allow individuals to discover their most authentic selves again. Together, we can work towards helping you develop effective mindfulness and coping strategies, boundaries, and emotional regulation skills. I am passionate about helping individuals heal inner wounds and realign with their highest goals and aspirations
